LISTEN: Summer Health & Wellness Care For Miami-Dade Kids

Miami-Dade moms and dads don't have to worry about getting their uninsured and under-insured children the medical care they need during the summer.

Five mobile units will be rolling out on June 10th offering free medical, dental and vision care.

They will stop at Miami-Dade summer camps and early childhood centers.

The Children's Trust Senior Program Manager Sabine Dulcio understands its hard for parents to get kids to doctors when school's not in session, "so these buses actually go to our summer camp locations, and they coordinate with our summer camp providers and are there on a daily basis to provide full services."

The mobile units also stop at early childhood centers.

The University of Miami Pediatric Mobile Clinic offers immunizations, physicals, even mental health screenings because the dozens of clinicians who were stationed at campuses after the Parkland tragedy are now available to provide additional services.

Two buses offer full dental care.

Another provides eye exams and glasses.

The services are free.

Appointments can be made by calling 2-1-1.
