I’m excited about today’s show. Not that I am not excited to have this conversation every day, I am. But today’ is kind of special. In our final hour we’ll get to highlight the biggest learning experience of my life. We’ll take you back to the days of good guys and bad guys, cops and robbers, drugs and guns. Throw in a dash of politics and dirty politicians and you get a day in the life of a drug cop.
My Metro Drug Unit commander Terry Sayer is with us at 8am to detail that life as he’s done in his new book: SNOWSTORM: Police, Politics and Cocaine.
Before we go there, there’s an interesting paternity case that will require the wisdom of Solomon to solve. The president gave an address to the nation Wednesday night on the war with Iran. It’s not over, but he says it’s close. He also challenged the world to step up on the Strait of Hormuz to do their part. And Pam Bondi is out at the DOJ.
Here in the homeland, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has responded to threats by Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier regarding the NFL’s Rooney Rule on hiring of minorities in key positions. Governor DeSantis signed a new elections bill into law and that immediately triggered lawsuits from the usual suspects. Speaking of suspects, Attorney General James Uthmeier has decided felons should have firearms, some of the felons anyway. He and the governor want the Florida House to impeach a Tallahassee judge whose actions on the bench, Uthmeier says, are criminal. And the governor has extended Florida’s state of emergency on immigration. And the money flows.
Let’s get to our Friday on BML.
