Good Trouble Protest Held In Orlando

(Orlando, FL) --Protest is as American as apple pie. That's what Orlando Democratic State Rep. Anna Eskamani said yesterday at a rally at Orlando City Hall. It was one of the Good Trouble Lives On civil rights protests held around the country. About a hundred people attended the one in Orlando. Protesters are upset with President Trump's policies, especially illegal immigration. Eskamani says the protest shows a unified opposition to what's happening in this country. A Dr. Phillips resident tells the Orlando Sentinel if you don't speak out, you get what you get.

Miami Commissioner Loses Attempt To Overturn Judgment

(Miami, FL) -- A Miami official's attempt to avoid paying millions of dollars in a legal case is facing a setback. A federal appeals court yesterday refused to overturn a judgment against City Commissioner Joe Carollo. He was ordered two years ago to pay over 63-million dollars to two businessmen in Little Haiti. The owners of the Ball and Chain sued Carollo for retaliating against them for supporting a political opponent. This was Carollo's second attempt to get the judgment lowered or wiped out completely. A lawyer for the businessmen tells the Miami Herald this is a win for every resident and business owner who believes in fairness, democracy and the First Amendment.

He then suffered a medical episode and was taken to a hospital.

Fan Pays Paul Simon $20 To Play Kodachrome

(Los Angeles, CA)-- Think of Paul Simon as your own live, personal jukebox. During a show this week at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, a fan shouted "Play 'Kodachrome'!" Simon replied he doesn't do requests..."unless you've got 20 bucks." Whether Simon was kidding or not, the fan gave him a 20-dollar-bill and the multi-time Grammy winner played the fan's request. Simon's "A Quiet Celebration" tour is his first full tour since revealing his severe hearing loss in 2023.
