HillsCo Student Arrested For Online Threat

(Tampa, FL) -- A student is accused of threatening to carry out a school shooting in Hillsborough County. The sheriff's office announced yesterday that Avery Rhodes was arrested at Bloomingdale High School. The 15-year-old allegedly posted the threat on Snapchat. Rhodes is facing charges that include written or electronic threat to conduct a mass shooting or act of terrorism. Sheriff Chad Chronister says this behavior is not a joke, and we will pursue anyone who makes these threats to the fullest extent of the law. 

Child Accused Of Making Bomb Threat

(Fort Lauderdale, FL)-- A child is accused of threatening to set off a bomb at a school in Broward County. The 11-year-old boy was in court yesterday after allegedly calling in the threat Wednesday at Somerset Key Academy in Deerfield. He's charged with making a false report of a bomb, explosive or weapon of mass destruction. The judge ordered him to be held on house arrest, and he's not allowed to leave his home unless he's with his mother or grandfather. He's due back in court next month.

Volusia County Man Arrested For Child Sexual Abuse

(DeLand, FL) -- A Volusia County man is accused of molesting several children. The FBI announced the arrest yesterday of Deltona's James Grover. The 62-year-old runs the Special Needs Advocacy Program in Sanford. It focuses on kids with special needs, and the FBI says one of his victims has special needs. Grover also worked for a company that organizes cruises for families who have children with autism and other special needs. The FBI started investigating in June after the mother of one child contacted Sanford Police and the sheriff's office. Investigators, though, believe the abuse started over a decade ago. Three alleged victims have been identified so far, and the FBI is asking for others to contact them at FBI.gov.

Broward County Museum Getting Refund After State Tourism Agency Removes LGBTQ Page From Website

(Fort Lauderdale, FL)-- A Broward County museum is getting a refund from the state. The Stonewall Museum and Archives in Fort Lauderdale focuses on the LGBTQ community, and it has been paying Visit Florida to be mentioned on the tourism board's website. The museum, though, was recently removed from the site when Visit Florida took down its LGBTQ page. Museum officials asked for a refund, and Local 10 News reported yesterday the state has agreed. A museum spokesperson, though, says they still want the page restored and an apology.
