South Florida Road Near Mar-a-Lago To Remain Closed Until Election
(Palm Beach, FL) -- A South Florida roadway near Mar-a-Lago is expected to remain closed until at least the November election. The U.S. Secret Service shut down parts of South Ocean Boulevard, better known as State Road A1A, last month following the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump. Palm Beach officials held a meeting earlier this week, saying the roughly one-mile closure has made it difficult to get around the island and may even impact emergency response in the area. WPBF 25 News reports that the town has sent a letter to the Secret Service, asking for a less invasive closure when Trump is not in town. Officials are still waiting on a response.
