Teen Tied To Two Treasure Coast Abduction Attempts
(Vero Beach, FL) -- A teenager is accused of trying to abduct two women on the Treasure Coast over the last week. Indian River County police say a 13-year-old who lives in the area has been connected to the attempted kidnappings in Vero Beach's Pointe West community. Sheriff Eric Flowers says the boy admitted to trying to assault the victims on July 2nd and 7th. The sheriff says there is only enough evidence to charge the suspect in the most recent attack, where he is accused of pulling out a knife. Additional patrols are expected in the neighborhood once the boy is released from custody.
Scott Slams Biden After Latest Inflation Report
(Washington, DC)-- Rick Scott says the latest inflation report highlights Joe Biden's clear incompetence. Senator Scott made that statement yesterday after the Bureau of Labor Statistics found inflation was up three percent in June compared to a year ago. Scott says this makes 39 straight months with inflation at or above three percent, and since President Biden took office, inflation is up over 20 percent. He says Biden's inability to lead isn't just embarrassing for our country, it's destructive and painful for the millions of American families that can't keep up with his high prices and record inflation. Scott adds the American Dream is further out of reach.
Florida Pulls Digital Driver's License From App Stores
(Tallahassee, FL)-- Florida's digital driver's licenses are no longer available in app stores. The state this week pulled the product from iOS and Android app stores, and those that have already been downloaded are no longer active. Users have been told to remove the app from their phones. The state did not give a reason for the change, but it says a new app should be available early next year.
Orlando Woman Fined For Bringing Ammo To Caribbean Island
(Orlando, FL) -- An Orlando woman won't have to go to prison for bringing ammo into a foreign country. A judge yesterday in Turks and Caicos fined Sharitta Grier 15-hundred dollars, gave her a 23-week suspended sentence and released her. The 45-year-old was arrested in May while visiting with her daughter. Police say they found two bullets in Grier's carry-on luggage. She pled guilty and could have gotten as much as 12 years in prison.
Former Teacher Arrested For Relationship With Student
(Tampa, FL) -- A former teacher is accused of preying upon a vulnerable teenager. That's what Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said yesterday about Denzel Proctor. The former Grace Christian School music teacher was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly impregnated a student who was 16 at the time. She's now 18. The 26-year-old Proctor resigned from the Valrico school in December, and deputies say the school reported rumors of the relationship to DCF. Chronister says his office learned of the allegations last week. Proctor is facing charges that include unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
Plane Delayed Following Disruptive Physical Passenger
(Miami, FL) --- A disruptive passenger on board a United Airlines flight out of Miami bound for Newark is in custody after biting a flight attendant and being combative on board. TMZ is showing video of the incident that happened Tuesday night. It shows a woman screaming at other passengers and trying to resist being zip tied by the flight crew, before biting an attendant and reportedly throwing punches. The flight was delayed by hours and had to land in Orlando so authorities could take the woman away.
World's Second-Largest Cruise Ship Docks At Port Canaveral
(Port Canaveral, FL)-- Brevard County is now home to one of the largest cruise ships in the world. Royal Caribbean's Utopia of the Seas docked at Port Canaveral yesterday. It's the world's second largest cruise ship with enough room for 56-hundred passengers. It's official debut will be next Friday. The world's largest cruise ship is Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas, which can hold 76-hundred passengers.
