Pro-Palestine Protester Arrested In Orange County

(Orlando, FL) --Orange County deputies are accused of being overly aggressive with a pro-Palestine protester. The sheriff's office says Lamia Lynn Moukaddam was arrested yesterday during a demonstration on Wetherbee Road. The Florida Palestine Network was protesting outside the C4 Tactical Systems Warehouse. Deputies say the protesters were blocking the road, and Moukkaddam was arrested for resisting an officer without violence. Another protester tells the Orlando Sentinel Moukkaddam was pinned down and brutalized by police.   

Parkland Family Sues US Over Gun Policies

(Parkland, FL) --The parents of a teenager killed in the Parkland school shooting are suing the U.S. government. The George Washington University Civil and Human Rights Law Clinic filed the suit yesterday on behalf of Manuel and Patricia Oliver. Their 17-year-old son, Joaquin, was killed in the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. According to the lawsuit, he was killed as a consequence of the actions and omissions of the U.S. that enabled and facilitated high-risk firearm sales to unsuitable civilians. The suit also blames the government for preventing the adoption of widely accepted measures to protect persons from being injured or killed by guns. The director of the law clinic tells NBC 6 the U.S. must do more to protect our right to live free from gunfire.

Deadly Stabbing at Polk County Publix

(Winter Haven, FL) -- A man is dead after a stabbing at a supermarket in Polk County. It happened yesterday afternoon in Winter Haven inside a Publix at Northgate Plaza on Sixth Street, Northwest. Police say a man was at the customer service desk when five people entered, and they all started fighting. The man at the customer service desk apparently stabbed a man in the group, and that man later died. No charges have been announced. Police Chief David Brannan says investigators are trying to see if this is a case of self-defense.

Seminole County Deputy Arrested For Stealing From Inmate

(Sanford, FL) --A Seminole County deputy is accused of stealing from an inmate. Detention deputy Steve Bostick turned himself in yesterday in Flagler County. He's charged with grand theft. The Seminole County Sheriff's Office says Bostick stole over 800 dollars in cash from a bag the inmate had on him when he was arrested on Tuesday. Bostick has been with the sheriff's office for nine years, but he's now suspended.Sheriff Dennis Lemma says the evidence against Bostick is compelling. Lemma also tells Channel 9 Bostick's behavior reflects poorly on our organization, brings discredit to Bostick and his fellow employees and undermines the public trust in law enforcement.

Woman Killed By Train In Hillsborough County

(Seffner, FL) --A woman is dead after she was hit by a train in Hillsborough County. It happened yesterday morning in Seffner near South Parsons Ave and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. The sheriff's office says she was sitting on the train tracks when she was hit. She died at the scene. Sheriff Chad Chronister says it's heartbreaking to hear another person has lost their life on the tracks. 

Second Teen Dies After Miami-Dade Crash

(Miami, FL) --Another teenager is dead after a crash in Miami-Dade County. Fourteen-year-old Jazmin Keltz died yesterday from injuries she suffered in Wednesday's crash in Kendall on Miller Road under a Florida Turnpike overpass. Fifteen-year-old Anthony Gago [[GAH-go]] died at the scene.Both were students at John A. Ferguson Senior High School. Police say Gago was driving his mother's car without permission, and Keltz was his passenger. Investigators believe he was speeding, lost control and hit a concrete pillar. 

Universal Florida Experiencing Technical Issues

(Orlando, FL) -- Many rides at Universal Studios Florida are shut down while the park undergoes technical issues. A spokesperson did not explain what the complications were, but did say a portion of the park is closed. Crews are working to fix the problem as soon as possible.Parkgoers are encouraged to check the Universal Orlando Mobile App for additional updates.

Pizza Hut Unveils Snake Pizza In Hong Kong

(Hong Kong) --Pizza Hut is introducing a new snake meat pizza in Hong Kong. The pizza features shredded snake meat, along with black mushrooms and dried ham. The creation is inspired by a traditional snake stew and available for a limited time.
