Florida Defending Its Gun Ban For Convicted Felons

(Tallahassee, FL) -- Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is defending the state's gun ban for convicted felons. Her office recently filed a brief to the Florida Supreme Court asking justices to reject a challenge to the law that prohibits felons from owning a firearm. The move is in response to a Santa Rosa County inmate, William Edenfield, who filed the request for a three-panel judge in August, claiming the legislation is unconstitutional.  Moody says the U.S. Supreme Court has made it clear that prohibitions on firearms for felons doesn't infringe on the Second Amendment. She wants the high court to dismiss Edenfield's case altogether.
