It’s rare for us to devote an entire show to one topic. There may be a theme, but one topic is rare. Today is that exception.
Yesterday the county commission, save one, was manipulated by one member into taking part in his campaign to unseat another Republican elected official in the county. Johnus Disgustus Tobia conned his fellow commissioners, except for Tom Goodson, to scrutinize three of the constitutional offices’ budgets for what appears to be purely political purposes.
It was a fiasco second to none.Commission Chair Rita Pritchett was clueless as she moderated the circus while turning majority of the inquisition over to Tobia. Rob Feltner, an ally of Johnus Disgustus, appeared to try and back away from his support of the effort, much of which was directed at his former boss, Property Appraiser Dana Blickley. Tobia, in an event he instigated, handled the majority of the questioning of these county-wide officials. He was blatantly transparent in this attempt to paint himself as a conservative, budget watching inquisitor. What he did was learn things he did not know about the Supervisor of Elections office that he seeks while admitting more than once that Supervisor Tim Bobanic is far more competent at the job than Tobia could ever be. Tom Goodson was the only commissioner not taken in by Johnus Disgustus’ political grandstand. In fact, Goodson stated more than once that they were wasting time and he left the meeting before it came to a close.
In hour one I’ll give you my impression of the meeting and set the stage for our guests Property Appraiser Dana Blickley, Tax Collector Lisa Cullen and Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanic in hours two and three. They will give us their perceptions and reaction to…the Inquisition.
