Federal Judge Stops Enforcement Of Florida Transgender Care Ban

(Tallahassee, FL) --There are new developments on the legal battle over a Florida law preventing certain medical treatments for transgender youth. A federal judge ordered the state to stop enforcing the ban on gender-affirming care for patients under the age of 18 for three families earlier today. The ruling is in response to an injunction the families filed last month. U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle says the caregivers are likely to win their overall case after they claimed the law denied parents the right to make medical decisions for their children. The ruling will not benefit those who are not named in the lawsuit. However, it shows how the judge may rule on the case in the future.
