Thief Victimizes Brevard County Gun Store
(Melbourne, FL)-- A search is underway to find someone who burglarized a gun store in Melbourne. Melbourne Police say Sicarios Gun Shop on North Wickham Road was broken into yesterday morning. Police have not said how many guns were taken or what kind. The suspect was seen on video getting into a stolen car.
Volusia Landlord Trapped, Threatened To Kill Tenants
(Orange City, FL) -- A Volusia County landlord is accused of trapping his tenants and threatening to kill them. Deputies were called to a home in Orange City Tuesday after the victims called 911.They told police that their 66-year-old landlord, Lawrence Cohen, had locked them in a garage, which had been turned into a bedroom. After trying to get Cohen out of the house, deputies tased him multiple times. Cohen was arrested for false imprisonment and resisting arrest.
Monroe County Sheriff, Senator Scott Discuss Migration Crisis
(Doral, FL)-- The Monroe County sheriff is asking for help addressing what he calls an unprecedented crisis. Sheriff Rick Ramsay was in Miami-Dade County yesterday with Senator Rick Scott. The two discussed the number of migrants that have been coming ashore in the Keys recently. Four more groups of migrants made landfall yesterday. Scott tells CBS4 he may go to the Keys to see the problem first-hand.
North Miami Beach Manager Responds To Accusations Of Mishandling COVID Relief Funds
(North Miami Beach, FL)-- A North Miami Beach official blames technical difficulties for misspent COVID relief funds. City Manager Arthur Sorey, III sent city commissioners a letter yesterday after they asked him to explain how he kept track of over half-a-million dollars the city received. The city used some of the money to buy over 11-hundred Publix gift cards, but over 300 cards remain unaccounted for. Local 10 News reports Sorey claims technical difficulties caused the system to trigger 15 duplicate cards and send some cards to people outside the city limits.
CO Funeral Home Operator Sentenced For Selling Body Parts
(Denver, CO)-- A former Colorado funeral home operator is getting a 20-year prison sentence for selling the body parts of over 500 corpses. "The Denver Post" reports 46-year-old Megan Hess illegally dismembered 560 corpses and sold their parts without the consent of family members. The report says for eight years, Hess and her mother had been telling families that their loved ones were cremated and then shipping off the body parts to medical training companies. Hess was sentenced to 20 years Tuesday, and her mother was sentenced to 15 years for aiding and abetting.

(San Francisco, CA)-- A survey shows that "seeking therapy" is the top New Year's resolution in the most states. "Seeking therapy" is the tops the list in 12 states, followed by "losing weight" in eight states. Among the states where therapy is the most popular resolution are Arizona, Florida, Missouri and New York. The survey was conducted by Zippia, an online job search agency.
