FDA Calling Out Florida Surgeon General Over Vaccines
(Tallahassee, FL)-- The FDA is calling out Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo over his recommendation against a certain COVID vaccine. Commissioner Robert Califf says the healthcare system is losing the battle against misinformation. Ladapo shared data by the state Department of health that he claims found an increase in cardiac-related death among men after they got the mRNA dose. The Orlando-Sentinel spoke to Califf who called the study flawed saying millions of people worldwide have found the vaccines to be safe.
Two Hurt In Brevard County Crash
(Cocoa, FL)-- Two men are hurt after a four-car crash in Brevard County that left food spilled all over the road. It happened last night in Cocoa on I-95 South near SR 520. FHP says a 24-year-old Titusville man drove his tractor trailer into the rear of another tractor trailer that was stopped on the shoulder. Two cars were also hit and flipped over. The Titusville man suffered serious injuries, and the driver of the other tractor trailer suffered minor injuries. Frozen sandwiches and other food items fell out of the tractor trailers, and part of the road was closed for hours for investigation and cleanup.
Diaz-Balart Blasts Biden's Plan To Release Oil From Emergency Stockpile
(Washington, DC)-- President Biden is accused of putting our national security at immense risk. That's what South Florida Republican Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart said yesterday after Biden announced a plan to reduce gas prices. Biden said he's ordering the release of 15 million barrels from the country's emergency oil reserves. Diaz-Balart Tweets Biden has depleted our Strategic Petroleum Reserve by 40 percent in just two years, and it's now at its lowest level since 1984. Biden, though, says we still have over 400 million barrels in our stockpile.

(Trenton, NJ)-- A New Jersey woman is helping people in Southwest Florida find possessions lost in Hurricane Ian. Shannon Pryor started a Facebook page called Hurricane Ian's Lost Treasures. It's where people can go to report lost or found items. So far, she says the site has helped about 12 people find lost items. Pryor recently told ABC Action News it feels good to give people hope when it may seem like there isn't any.
Marijuana To Be Sold At Florida Circle Ks
(Chicago, IL)-- People in Florida will soon be able to buy marijuana at Circle K. Green Thumb Industries of Chicago announced a new deal on Wednesday that will allow cannabis to be sold at ten Circle K gas stations in Florida. The Circle Ks will have dispensaries with separate entrances from the convenience store. Among the items for sale will be marijuana pre-rolls, gummies and vapes. Green Thumb CEO Ben Kovler said the deal will make it "easier and more efficient for patients to purchase high-quality cannabis as part of their everyday routine when stopping by their local convenience store."
Gun Found In Diaper Bag At OH Daycare
(Symmes, OH)-- A foster mother won't be charged after a gun was found in a diaper bag that was dropped off with a baby at a Cincinnati-area daycare. The nine-millimeter weapon with a single round in the chamber was found on Monday. Hamilton County deputies say the woman wasn't charged because the gun is owned legally. However, Child Protective Services has removed the child from the woman's custody.
Woman Releases Bees On Deputies Serving Eviction
(Springfield, MA)-- A woman is being charged after releasing a swarm of bees on deputies attempting to serve an eviction notice. Rorie Woods was among a group of protesters at a Springfield home when officers arrived to serve eviction papers to the property owner. While wearing a beekeeper's suit, Woods released the bees on the deputies from hives kept in a trailer she was towing. The resulting swarm caused officers to temporarily retreat, and several were stung. Woods was eventually handcuffed and while being led to the cruiser said, "You're allergic? Good." after hearing some of the officers stung had bee allergies. She pleaded not guilty to felony charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, the bees, and was released without bail.
NJ DOT Spicing Up Road Signs
(Trenton, NJ) --New Jersey's Department of Transportation is spicing up its road signs. The agency says it wants to get more creative with its messaging so it's trying new messages that are fun and catchy, yet remind people to drive safely. Some signs read "We'll be blunt. Don't Drive High," "Hocus Pocus, drive with focus," or "Get Your Head Out Of Your App." Drivers can even send their own submissions and they might just see their messages on interstates and highways across New Jersey, or any roadway run by the Department of Transportation.
Turkey Prices Up 73-Percent Over Last Thanksgiving
(Undated) -- Thanksgiving dinner is going to be more expensive this year. Turkey prices are 73-percent higher than last year and analysts say they could stay that way through the holiday. It's largely due to the spread of bird flu, which led to a smaller supply. Higher feed costs and a labor shortage also factored in to the increase in price. The USDA says the cost of an eight-to-16-pound turkey is a-dollar-99-cents-a-pound, compared to a-dollar-15 last year.
Some McDonald's Will Sell Krispy Kreme
(Louisville, KY)-- Krispy Kreme donuts are being added to the menu at several McDonald's locations. Nine stores in Kentucky will begin selling the iconic donuts as a test run to "inform future menu decisions." Krispy Kreme will deliver the donuts fresh each morning, and they'll be available individually or in a six-pack, with flavors like glazed, chocolate iced, and raspberry filled. While this test run will be for a limited time, McDonald's announced they'll use the results to see how offering Krispy Kreme could impact operations long-term.
