(Washington, DC) -- President Biden is no longer coming to Florida due to a positive COVID-19 test. The president was scheduled to speak at a conference in Orlando and Tampa on Monday. The White House says he is feeling fine, but will need to continue isolating for the next five days. This is the second time the president has canceled a trip to Central Florida because of the virus. It's unclear if or when his administration will reschedule a trip.
Tenant Shoots Landlord Over Eviction Dispute In Sanford
(Sanford, FL)-- Sanford Police are investigating after a shooting over a confrontation regarding an eviction. The incident happened at the intersection of Anderson Circle and Hays in the city Thursday morning around 11. There, 51-year-old Andrew Crist allegedly shot Cliff Perard in the backyard of a home near the area. According to investigators, Perard was attempting to evict Crist who was a tenant of the residence.
Father Accused Of Stabbing Two Daughters, Killing Four-Year-Old
(Longwood, FL)-- A four-year-old girl is dead after being stabbed inside a Longwood home Thursday. Police responded to the residence at 789 Highland Street around 5:40 a.m. yesterday after a 12-year-old girl who was critically injured walked to a nearby McDonald's for help. Police identified 39-year-old Juan Bravo-Torres as the girls' father and the man suspected of stabbing his young daughters. Bravo-Torres was found with multiple self-inflicted stab wounds as well.
Alleged Drug Dealer Arrested In Hernando County Detention Center Parking Lot
(Spring Hill, FL)-- Five people are facing charges after an undercover drug sting in Hernando County. According to the sheriff's office, deputies received a tip about someone selling drugs from a house on Glenbrook Avenue in Spring Hill. An investigation revealed 32-year-old Kristen Elizabeth Whalen was selling meth and fentanyl out of the home. During the investigation deputies arrested Whalen and two others in the parking lot of the Hernando County Detention Center where they were waiting to pick someone else up.
Twenty-Two-Year Police Veteran Charged With Battery Of Another Officer
(Sunrise, FL)-- A Sunrise Police sergeant is facing battery charges after he was caught on camera grabbing the throat of another officer. Sergeant Christopher Pullease turned himself into police Thursday evening after the months-long investigation led to charges being filed. The video shows the 22-year veteran of the force going after a female officer after she pulled Pullease back by his belt during an arrest back on November 19th, 2021. The Police body camera footage shows Pullease aggressively attempting to arrest a suspect accused of attacking others outside of a convenience store.
Georgia Coach Calling For Florida Rivalry Game To be Moved From Jacksonville
(Jacksonville, FL)-- During his interview at the Southeastern Conference Media Days this week, GA coach Kirby Smart called for the conference to move the game from the River City, as it's been played there since 1933. Smart, who is entering his seventh season as the Bulldogs head coach, calls the neutral site a recruiting disadvantage. The Florida - Georgia game is one of only two Power Five rivalries that's played at a neutral site - the other being the Texas-Oklahoma game that is played at the State Fair of Texas.
Man With Ax Causes Six-Digit Damages At Sioux Falls Car Dealerships
(Sioux Falls, SD)-- A Rapid City, South Dakota man with an ax is accused of causing over 100-thousand dollars in damage to cars at multiple Sioux Falls dealerships. Police responded Tuesday to dealerships where several cars had damage from an ax. Police say Joseph Bonnet damaged almost three dozen cars at two different dealerships. The affected dealers say replacing the cars isn't an option because of supply issues.
