Friday, Major League Baseball decided to move this season’s ALL STAR game out of Atlanta because of Georgia’s new election law. MLB is just the latest to jump on the “Punish Georgia” bandwagon. What’s happening is Georgians are being punished. We’ll talk the baseball angle with Dave Bowman in our 8am hour as Dave and I try to take over the world. We’ll begin our day on the idea that business, media and now professional sports have drawn the wrong line in the sand. WOKE MADNESS seems to have taken over the country.
When some of the weekend’s best social commentary also comes from the sports world it lands IN A HANDBASKET. Charles Barkley is making more sense than Coke, Delta, American Airlines, Amazon, MLB, CBS, Gannett and so many more.
CBS went all in on this as they published a primer on defeating Georgia’s election law. Then, thinking nobody would notice, they changed the headline when they were called on it, but the body of the story remained the same. Gannett, parent entity of Florida Today, joined in on the Georgia bashing calling on other professional sports to shun the Peach State.
For our part, Governor DeSantis has issued that executive order banning vaccine passports in the state. The smoke around Congressman Matt Gaetz makes it harder to believe there is not a fire, and maybe a raging one. Gaetz continues his denials as the accusations mount and at least one staffer has jumped from what could be the sinking ship of Gaetz’ career.
