Missing Girl's Mom Considered Person Of Interest
(Jacksonville, FL) -- The mother of a missing Jacksonville girl is now a person of interest. Sheriff Mike Williams made that announcement yesterday while discussing the disappearance of five-year-old Taylor Rose Williams. The girl went missing last week, and Brianna Williams stopped cooperating with police two days later. Meanwhile, members of JFRD's Urban Search and Rescue team and JSO homicide detectives traveled to Alabama, where Brianna is from, yesterday to search for clues in the girl's disappearance. Sheriff Mike Williams said yesterday he believes Taylor's mom, Brianna Williams, drove to Alabama, where she's from in the last two weeks, and family members tell News4Jax her cell phone pinged in that area. While Brianna is no longer cooperating with investigators, the JSO says her relatives and Taylor's father are.
Woman Arrested In Drive-By Shooting
(DeLand, FL) -- A teenager is facing charges after an online argument turned violent in Volusia County. DeLand 19-year-old Isabell Lewis was arrested last week for a drive-by BB gun shooting at a home on Lake Mamie Road. Deputies say two people in the home told them they were playing Xbox Live when an online chat turned into an argument that included threats. No one was hurt in the shooting, but deputies say a sliding glass door was broken.
Kittens Thrown From Passing Car In Pinellas County
(Pinellas Park, FL) -- A search is underway to find the person responsible for what police call a sad incident in Pinellas County. Pinellas Park Police say someone was seen throwing kittens from a car at 82nd Ave and 66th Street yesterday. At least one kitten died, but there's no word on how many were thrown from the car. Anyone with information is asked to contact police, who say they're taking the case very seriously.
Man Beaten While Walking Dog In Broward County
(Wilton Manors, FL) -- A man is on the mend after his morning routine was violently interrupted in Broward County. The unidentified man says he was walking his dog yesterday morning in Wilton Manors near Wilton Drive and 6th Ave when he was attacked. He says several people approached from behind while two others got out of a car, threw him to the ground and kicked his head. During the attack, he says his dog ran away, but police were able to find the dog more than 12 hours later and return him home.
Woman Drives Stolen Golf Cart On I-95
(Miami, FL) -- A woman responsible for an unusual sight in Miami-Dade County is getting psychiatric help. A video posted this weekend on Instagram shows the woman driving a golf cart police say was stolen from UM Hospital on I-95 North. FHP pulled her over between exits 7 and 10 and Baker Acted the woman. The video has gotten about a hundred thousand views in just two days on the OnlyInDade Instagram page.
Study: Hate Eating Veggies Could Be Genetic
(Dallas, TX) -- Those who hate eating vegetables may be able to blame their parents. Scientists say there could be a genetic reason instead of just being a picky eater. They revealed a new study today at an annual meeting of the American Heart Association. Seems some people are sensitive to the bitter taste found in such veggies as broccoli, cauliflower and brussel sprouts. A new study finds this makes them almost three times as likely to eat fewer veggies than those without the bitter gene.
Nearly $42,000 Raised For Slasher Of 'Baby Trump' Balloon
(Tuscaloosa, AL) -- The man arrested for bringing down a "Baby Trump" balloon at a college football game will have more than enough money to pay his legal fees. He set up a GoFundMe page to raise six thousand dollars but at last check, has almost eight times that amount. Police say the 32-year-old used a knife on Saturday to cut the giant balloon near the University of Alabama stadium. He didn't want President Trump to see it as he attended the game and promises to donate any left over money to the Republican Party.
