DeSantis Announces Water Bottle Donations To Bahamas

(West Palm Beach, FL) -- The state of Florida is making sure the Bahamas gets plenty of clean drinking water. Governor Ron DeSantis announced yesterday in Palm Beach County that the Department of Emergency Management and FPL are sending more than half a million water bottles to the Bahamas. Emergency Management Director Jared Moskowitz says clean water is one of the most important commodities for the Bahamas right now.

Lake County Teen Accused Of Stealing Money To Get Parents Murdered

(Lake County, FL) -- New details are being released about a Lake County teen accused of trying to get her parents killed. Seventeen-year-old Alyssa Hatcher allegedly stole her parents' debit card and took out over 14-hundred dollars. Deputies say she used that money to hire two different people to kill her mother and father. She is facing charges of criminal solicitation of murder.

Morgan Pours More Money Into Minimum Wage Effort

(Orlando, FL) -- John Morgan recently filed a report that shows he poured another 374-thousand dollars into the effort last month. In the last two years, he has spent four-and-a-half-million dollars to get the issue on next year's ballot. His goal is to raise the minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour by 2026. 

Melbourne's MLK Road Signs Installed

(Melbourne, FL) --  A decades-long effort to honor Martin Luther King is a step closer to completion in Brevard County. Melbourne city workers yesterday installed the new Martin Luther King, Jr Boulevard road signs. The signs were installed at Airport and Hibiscus boulevards, but they'll remain covered until the official unveiling next week. Efforts to rename a street for Dr. King began over 30 years ago.The Melbourne City Council approved the name change two months ago. 

Woman Injured By Bear

(Longwood, FL) -- A woman is hurt after a bear encounter in Seminole County. The FWC says the woman was walking her dogs in Longwood early yesterday in The Springs when she came across a female bear and two cubs. When the woman fell to the ground the bear bit her ankle, but she wasn't seriously hurt. The FWC warns that more bears may be roaming neighborhoods for food these days to fatten themselves for winter. 

Mom Of Tongue Depressor Licker Gets Charge Reduced

(Jacksonville, FL) -- A Jacksonville woman is facing a lesser charge for a viral incident at a doctor's office. Cori Ward was recently charged with a felony for allegedly recording her daughter licking a tongue depressor in a doctor's office two months ago, but the charge was lowered last week to a misdemeanor. In the video, Ward's 10-year-old daughter appears to take a tongue depressor out of a jar, lick it, and then put it back in the jar. Ward is due in court next week.

Married Man's Death During Fling In France Ruled 'Workplace Accident'

(France) -- According to a new ruling French railroad construction company is financially responsible for the death of their adulterous worker. The Times of London reports that an appeals court judge ruled that a worker for TSO, who died in the middle of a work trip affair, is the victim of a workplace accident. That unidentified married engineer is said to have suffered a heart attack while having sex with a local woman on a work trip in central France. The ruling says an employee is entitled to employer protection for the duration of their assignment even while doing an act of "normal life" like having sex. The company has lost appeals at every stage in court. Now, the man's partner and any children will receive a monthly benefit correlated to 80-percent of his salary and a share of his pension.
