Trump Says Undocumented Immigrants Will Not Be Sent To Florida 

(Tallahassee, FL) -- It appears undocumented immigrants will not be going to Florida after all. A spokeswoman for Governor Ron DeSantis said Saturday federal authorities will not be sending the immigrants as previously thought. Local officials in two Democratic counties said they were told by federal officials last week to expect two planeloads of immigrants each week. Now a spokeswoman for the Republican governor says DeSantis and Trump talked Saturday afternoon, and that Trump told the governor that there are no plans to send immigrants to Florida, and that he had not authorized such a plan.   

Three Shot In Palm Bay 

(Palm Bay, FL) -- Three people are hurt after a shooting at a bar in Brevard County. It happened yesterday afternoon in Palm Bay at The Wet Spot on Dixie Highway during a memorial ceremony. The victims are in serious condition. No arrest has been announced, and there's no word on a motive.

More Than 100K Ballots Returned In Volusia County 

(DeLand, FL) -- Ballots continue to pour in in Volusia County as voters consider raising taxes. A special mail-in election will decide if the county raises its sales tax by half a penny. At last report yesterday, more than one hundred thousand ballots had been turned in, which amounts to 25 percent of eligible voters. The deadline to submit ballots is tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. 

Suspect In Deadly Stabbing Arrested 

(Tampa, FL) -- A man is in custody after a bus driver was stabbed to death on his route. Tampa Police announced yesterday that Justin McGriff is charged with murder for the stabbing that killed 46-year-old Thomas Dunn Saturday at North Nebraska and East Lotus avenues. No one else was hurt, and there's no word on a motive.The incident came months after Dunn attended a HART Meeting to complain about driver safety, and HART announced yesterday it will take a deeper look into how to keep their employees safe. Safety was apparently on Dunn's mind after he was stabbed, as police say he was able to pull the bus to a stop on the side of the road, and none of the 12 passengers were hurt.

TripAdvisor: Orlando Is Nation's Top Summer Travel Destination 

(Orlando, FL) -- Orlando is the nation's top summer travel destination. That's according to a new list from TripAdvisor. It's based on summer hotel booking interest from U.S. travelers. Las Vegas is number-two, followed by Myrtle Beach, North Carolina, Maui, Hawaii and New York City rounding out the top five. 

Florida Fountain Name Directs Visitors To 'Wald Disney World' 

(Celebration, FL) -- A Central Florida town is going to have to fix what one resident calls a pretty embarrassing mistake. The fountain in downtown Celebration was closed yesterday after officials realized Walt Disney World and Captiva Island were misspelled. Instead of a 'T' in Walt's name, there was a 'D,' and ’Captiva Island' was misspelled as 'Captativa Island.' One resident tells News 6 for all they have to pay in HOA fees, this never should have happened.

Children Attacked By Neighbor's Pet Raccoon 

(Clinton Township, MI) -- A pet raccoon has been euthanized after attacking two children in Michigan. Home security footage shows a six-year-old and an eight-year-old child frantically running away from the raccoon named Bandit who entered their backyard from a hole in the fence on May 8th. The raccoon reportedly jumped onto the six-year-old girl and bit her knee, drawing blood. She got several rounds of rabies shots and tested negative. The neighbors who own Bandit said they had him since he was a baby and claimed he was a friendly creature who would sleep with their granddaughter.

2009, embattled NFL quarterback Michael Vick was released from federal prison after serving 21 months of a 23-month sentence in connection with a dogfighting ring. The suspended Atlanta Falcons' quarterback was ordered to serve the final two months of his sentence in home confinement at his mansion in Hampton, Virginia. He was also ordered to work a construction job as a probation condition.  

1993, the final episode of the popular sitcom "Cheers" aired on NBC. More than 80-million people tuned in to see the show's finale.

1899, Jacob German of New York City became the first driver ever arrested for speeding. He was taken into custody after being observed driving his taxi over the posted 12-mile-per-hour speed limit.
