We opened the day Wednesday with a discussion of silencing political speech. It’s not only politicians that want dissent suppressed. Institutions are pretty good at it, too. We begin our day revisiting the WNBA.
When you’ve found yourself in difficulty, the first rule is to not make the problem any worse. If you’ve dug yourself into a hole, stop digging! The WNBA has trouble understanding that and what should have been a triumphant couple of years for them has become a quagmire of social issues and distraction.
Meta has settled the multi-state lawsuit over addictive features and will be making massive payouts to those states except for one- Florida. The Baby Pope, Attorney General James Uthmeier says the settlement isn’t enough and that Florida will see Meta in court.
Speaking of our dear attorney General, the Hope Florida Grand Jury results have been leaked and, as we already know, Uthmeier is a central figure. The Medicaid funds were misappropriated and Uthmeier was at the helm, but no charges will be forthcoming. I’m telling you, we need a federal investigation of this government corruption. The Leon County State Attorney has to own some of this…if a prosecutor could indict a ham sandwich, this Hope Florida thing is the entire pig farm (with no gestation crates).
Lastly, friend and political science instructor Nicole James has written a column about anonymous founding fathers who waxed eloquent under false names in revolutionary times. The reasons for anonymity are interesting and key to the formation of our country. Nicole’s column is worth your time.
