Wednesday- Silencing Satire

It’s Wide Open Wednesday so you get to decide what we’re talking about today. It could be news, politics, sports, social issues or where any of these intersect. The idea of the day is it’s up to you.

Our day begins with satire and the attempts to silence it or even reclassify it as political ads in order to regulate it. Don’t you believe for a minute that even Republican elected officials will work to limit free speech rights if they can. In fact, the only politicians to attempt to silence me in the entirety of my career are Republicans. The names Hodgers, Feltner and Fine are the first to come to mind.

From there it’s up to you, but we do have some things in play for your consideration. Flock and other enforcement cameras, a mail ballot win for President Trump, Byron Donalds choosing a running mate, immigration issues and threats to kill politicians, including the aforementioned Randy Fine.

It’s your day on BML.  Let’s get it started.
