Friday- Your Data, Your Demise

We hand over our personal data at an alarming rate. We do it for discounts on gasoline, fast food or about anything else. We save money, though maybe not a lot, and we become a product in the process. We also become targets.

Thursday’s Kim Komando minute told us about the McDonald’s App. One member asked for the information being gathered on him and received 515 pages of his life related to McD’s. What he ordered, when he ordered and when and what he was likely to order again were all included. And you thought cops profiled bad guys!

If McDonald’s is gathering all this information, what do you think your appliance or furniture store, Best Buy, Lowes or Home Deport are doing?

Now imagine the potential uses of this information. What do you buy? When do you buy it? How badly do you need it?  Is it an emergency? How much are you willing to pay? And now, the price adjusts based upon…you. Your data defines you.

That’s just one topic for our Friday. We also have Marco Rubio- the Meme! So far, ten sitting US House members have been ousted in primary elections. Are there more to come? Somebody’s trying to clean house, but is it working?

And we’ll open the Friday File- any topic of the week you may have missed out on is open for your commentary in our 8am hour.
