Publix Blueberry Recall Affects Florida

(Lakeland, FL) --Publix is recalling bags of frozen blueberries due to possible E. coli contamination. The ten-ounce bags of GreenWise Organic IQF Blueberries were sold at grocery stores in Florida and seven other states. So far, there have been about a dozen confirmed cases of E. coli.

Jeb Bush, Carlos Gimenez Warn Of Threat From Iranian Drones

(Coral Gables, FL) -- Former Governor Jeb Bush and Congressman Carlos Gimenez are teaming up to warn citizens about the danger the country faces from Cuba. Bush and Gimenez were in Coral Gables yesterday to discuss Cuba's ties with Iran. Cuba has reportedly bought over 300 military drones from Iran and is considering using them to attack Guantanamo Bay and Key West. Gimenez says the drones could reach as far as Atlanta and the Cuban dictatorship is a real threat with these drones just 90 miles from our shores.

DeSantis Calls For Republican Debate In Governor's Race

(Tallahassee, FL) --Governor Ron DeSantis is calling for the GOP to hold a debate with the candidates to replace him. DeSantis commented yesterday on Paul Renner's request for Fox News to host a debate so frontrunner Byron Donalds would appear.There was a debate earlier this month, but only Renner, Jay Collins and James Fishback participated. The Florida Republican Party has not scheduled a full debate. DeSantis wrote on X that the state GOP has no authority to refuse debates and having a debate on Fox News would be a win for the voters.

Two Killed In Crash Involving Man Fleeing Deputies In Seminole County

(Sanford, FL) --Two men are dead after their car was hit by a man fleeing deputies in Seminole County. The crash happened Tuesday afternoon in Casselberry on US Highway 17-92 near Sunnytown Lane. The sheriff's office says deputies tried pulling over drug trafficking suspect Marquaious Wheaton in Sanford, but he refused to stop. There was no ground pursuit, but a helicopter followed him from above. Deputies say Wheaton was going over 100 miles per hour when he sideswiped a car and killed two brothers in their 40s. Wheaton was arrested, and he could face homicide charges.

North Miami Beach Police Officer Arrested For Video Voyeurism

(North Miami Beach, FL) -- A police officer finds himself on the wrong side of the law in Miami-Dade County.North Miami Beach Police Captain Jose Maya was in court yesterday after he was arrested Tuesday for video voyeurism.He allegedly recorded a woman by using a device he placed under a bathroom door. Police Chief Juan Pinillos says the allegations are deeply concerning and represent a serious breach of the public's trust. He says Maya has been relieved of duty pending the outcome of the case. Pinillos adds he's deeply disappointed, and he remains committed to transparency, accountability and holding every member of the department to the highest professional standards. 

Video Voyeur Arrested In Miami-Dade County

(Miami, FL) --A man is accused of recording women in a restroom in Miami-Dade County. The sheriff's office announced yesterday Miami's Richard Parson was arrested Tuesday night at Miami Dade College's North Campus. Deputies say two women reported he recorded them while they were using a campus bathroom. One woman says when she confronted Parson, he pushed her, and she fell and hurt her knee.Parson is charged with voyeurism and felony battery.
