For the first part of the show today we’ll focus on public safety and law enforcement. William’s call kicked off last Thursday with “see something, say something.” That story played out IN North Carolina a week before the 4th of July holiday. Just ahead of the holiday, federal authorities in Chicago conducted a massive investigation and round up of violent felons.
But who protects the protectors? Federal agents have been under fire and under attack since the illegal immigration crackdown of this second term of President Trump. Even governments themselves are after the federal agents. It appears at least one court is stepping up to stop that nonsense.
President Trump is bringing his energetic style to the Republican Party ahead of the midterm elections. It’s something the Republicans have not done previously and could be the shot in the arm Republicans need as we head into the fall.
The president’s policies are having broader impact than here in the US. The Western Hemisphere is being reshaped by those policies. We’ll take a look.
Lastly, if we have the time, we’ll consider the idea of codifying birthright citizenship as illegal in the wake of the Supreme Court’s recent decision to the contrary. We’ll call it a false hope.
