DeSantis Designates Groups As Terrorist Organizations
(Tallahassee, FL) --Over 90 groups could be considered terrorist organizations in Florida. Governor Ron DeSantis designated the groups as such yesterday.The groups include CAIR, the Muslim Brotherhood and Antifa. He says these designations will help combat terrorism while defending the Constitutional rights of our citizens. The designations mean state and local governments will be prohibited from providing taxpayer funding, contracts or other public support to the organizations.The Florida Cabinet must approve the designations before they take effect.
Parking Dispute Leads To Deadly Shooting In Broward County
(North Lauderdale, FL) -- A man is dead after a parking dispute turned violent in Broward County. The sheriff's office released details yesterday on Tuesday's shooting in North Lauderdale in a Walmart parking lot on West McNab Road.Deputies say Lauderhill's Bart Diguglielmo was arguing with a woman about a parking spot when she shot him.The 62-year-old was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The woman remained on the scene and claims the shooting was in self-defense.No charges have been announced.
CA State Senate Kills Bill Barring Sex Offenders From Running For Office
(Sacramento, CA) --Registered sex offenders are still allowed to run for public office in California. On Tuesday, the State Senate's Elections Committee rejected a proposal calling for a ban on them doing so. The proposal passed the State Assembly unanimously before reaching the State Senate committee. The proposal was written by Fresno Democratic Assemblymember Esmeralda Soria, after registered sex offender Rene Campos tried to run for Fresno City Council.
