Deadly Gator Attack In Seminole County
(Sanford, FL) -- A woman is dead after she was bitten by an alligator in Seminole County. It happened yesterday in Geneva while she was swimming with friends in the Little Big Econ River near the Bar Street Trailhead. FWC says the 31-year-old was taken to the hospital where she passed away.The gator has not been found.This came a day after a child was bitten on the hand while fishing in Marion County at Nelson's Outdoor Resort in Umatilla. The FWC says the child was taken to the hospital, and the 8-and-a-half foot gator was caught and killed.
SWAT Team Takes Man Into Custody In Orange County
(Winter Garden, FL) -- A man is in custody after the SWAT team was called to a home in Orange County. The sheriff's office says he was arrested yesterday morning after an incident that started the night before in Winter Garden. Deputies responded to a home on Partlow Drive for a domestic violence call. The man barricaded himself inside the home before he was taken into custody without incident.

Woman Accused Of Getting Physical With Police Officer In Miami Beach
(Miami Beach, FL) -- A woman is accused of attacking a police officer and a park ranger in Miami-Dade County. Miami Beach Police recently arrested Karen Marie Burnap-Graney on South Beach. Police say she had an open beer container and, when a park ranger asked her to throw it away, she spit on him, hit his arm and kicked his legs. When an officer tried to arrest Burnap-Graney, she allegedly tried to bite the officer. She's charged with battery on a police officer and resisting without violence.

Uber Expanding Its Background Checks And Tightening Rules For Drivers
(Washington, DC) --Uber is rolling out stricter background checks and restrictions for drivers. The company said the new policies for rideshare drivers and couriers for its delivery service will take effect on Monday. Among the changes, Uber is expanding the list of criminal offenses that permanently disqualify someone from being a driver in the U.S.The company will no longer allow people with prior convictions for violent felonies, sexual crimes, stalking or strangulation to be drivers. Uber said it had prevented over three million people from joining or remaining on the platform since 2017.
