Putnam County Man Charged With Threatening To Kill Trump

(Jacksonville, FL) -- A Putnam County man is accused of threatening to kill President Trump. The Justice Department announced yesterday Crescent City's Ryan Brown threatened to blow up the White House in an email he sent two months ago to WhiteHouse.gov. He allegedly sent another email last month threatening to kill Trump. The 27-year-old is charged with two counts of threatening to kill the president of the United States. If convicted, he could get 10 years in prison. 

Alligator Alcatraz Emptied For Hurricane Season

(Ochopee, FL) --Alligator Alcatraz is now empty, but that could just be temporary. The Department of Homeland Security announced yesterday all detainees have been transferred to other facilities ahead of hurricane season. There's no word on where the detainees were transferred to or when they might return. 

Home And Auto Rates Drop In Florida

(Tallahassee, FL) --Home and auto rates are dropping Florida. Triple-A says it's reducing rates by up to five percent, saving policyholders in the state 28-million dollars. The company says the state's insurance market is stabilizing, making the reductions possible.

Report: 47-Percent Of FL Residents Cannot Afford Basic Expenses

(Orlando, FL) --Nearly half of all Floridians do not make enough money to afford their basic needs. That's according to the latest ALICE report from the United Way.It found 47 percent of state residents fall at or below ALICE thresholds. ALICE -- short for Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained, and Employed -- uses a broader measure than the federal poverty level, factoring in income, household type, and local living costs. 

Nuisance Property Torn Down In Brevard County

(Melbourne, FL) --An effort is underway to tear down neglected properties in Brevard County. The city of Melbourne demolished an abandoned home on Osage Ave yesterday.The demolition is costing the city 14-thousand dollars, but it hopes to make that back when the land is sold.Neighbors say the home was a nightmare, and it attracted rats and homeless people. City Council member David Neuman promises more blighted properties will be addressed. He tells Fox 35 everyone deserves to feel safe, comfortable and have a beautiful neighborhood.

Pasco County Considers Moratorium On Data Centers

(New Port Richey, FL) -- Pasco County may impose a moratorium on data centers. The county commission met yesterday and discussed pausing any data center proposals for 12 months. Some residents are worried about how much water and electricity the centers might use.A vote on a moratorium could take place at another county commission meeting next month. 

Alabama Man Loses Prosthetic Leg In Gulf

(Panama City Beach, FL) -- An Alabama man is asking for help replacing a prosthetic he lost in Bay County. Andrew Walker was in the water with his son in Panama City Beach recently when a strong current swept away the prosthetic leg he just got a week ago. The family says insurance likely won't cover a new one so soon. A GoFundMe page was started yesterday to raise 45-hundred dollars.Despite the setback, Walker tells News 13 he'll continue to stay positive and enjoy the rest of his vacation with his family.
