Miami Gardens Police Announce Record Drug Seizure
(Miami Gardens, FL) -- A recent drug seizure is one for the record books in Miami-Dade County. Miami Gardens Police seized almost 5 million dollars worth of drugs from Anthony Gordon and Danette Young's home this week.The state attorney's office said yesterday it's the biggest drug seizure in the MGPD's history. Gordon and Young were arrested after police started investigating a deadly shooting at the couple's home on Northwest 174th Street on Tuesday. Police say a man was trying to break into the home, and Young ran to a neighbor, who shot and killed him.
Volusia County Man Exposes Himself To Teen In Flagler County
(Bunnell, FL) -- A Volusia County man is accused of exposing himself to a teenager in Flagler County.The Flagler County Sheriff's Office announced yesterday Daytona Beach's Craig Stevens is facing charges for an incident four months ago in Palm Coast. Deputies say he was naked in the locker room of a Planet Fitness on SR 100 when he tried to enter a stall where a 15-year-old boy was taking a shower.Sheriff Rick Staly says Stevens' behavior was predatory, disgusting and illegal. He adds he commends the teen for the way he handled this perverted encounter and immediately reporting it. Stevens is currently serving four-and-a-half years for conspiracy and aggravated identity theft in a separate case.
Tallahassee City Council Discusses Data Centers

The city commission met yesterday to discuss a one-year moratorium on data centers.City Manager Reese Goad, though, says a moratorium isn't necessary because local law doesn't allow for them.He says the city's comprehensive plan and land use ordinances make it impossible for a data center to exist.WCTV reports the moratorium proposal was defeated.
Juror In Tampa Murder Reports Hearing Intimidating Comments
(Tampa, FL) -- An encounter in an elevator could lead to charges in Tampa. A juror in Terry Stephens' murder trial told the judge yesterday two people with ties to Stephens made threatening comments Tuesday while they were in the elevator together. Stephens' lawyer asked for a mistrial, but the judge denied that request.Fox 13 News reports the judge is considering charging the two who allegedly made the threat with contempt of court.
Salt Lake City Council Seat Decided By Coin Flip
(Salt Lake City, UT)-- With the flip of a coin, Salt Lake City added a new member to the city council. The seat became vacant when Eva Lopez Chavez was removed from the city council after it was revealed she was living outside of her district. In the end, the city council was stuck with a three-three tie when they voted on who should fill the seat for the next 18 months. So on Tuesday they flipped a coin, with Jennifer Napier-Pearce winning the toss. She's a former advisor to Governor Spencer Cox.
