It was an amazing weekend for WV baseball fans as the Mountaineers are headed to Omaha and the College World Series for the first time in program history. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo was the Super Regional opponent and it was no contest. A 12-2 Friday win and a 17-1 rain delayed drubbing Saturday launched WV and its fans into a frenzy. The CWS begins Friday. Don’t expect to draw me from TV when the Mountaineers are playing. I wonder if they’ll let the Fan with the live raccoon into the stadium in Omaha.
As we kick off our talk week, Boston may be city with financial trouble, but somehow they find a costly way to pander to the trans community. They prioritize spending as well as most Florida cities and counties.
President Trump walked out on Meet the Press this weekend. It’s not been a friendly place for him, and he knows that. I am a bit disappointed in the walkout, but on the other hand, I get it. Bill Maher had an interesting perspective on Scott Pelley’s exit from 60 Minutes. Sometimes the left does get it.
There’s been a change in how Florida will enforce waiting periods on firearms purchases. Basically, it won’t. Royce Bartlett shared that news with me Friday. My first thought was, didn’t this governor remove two prosecutors from office for not following Florida law? There is a twist this time and we’ll lay it out.
Then there is the not yet raging, but obvious campaigning against the constitutional amendment on reducing property taxes. It’s as if both sides are in panic mode. Maybe they should be. It’s the irresistible force against the immovable object. Something will have to give. My guess is it will be the taxpayers.
Let’s kick off the week.
