How about we take a high note with In a Handbasket this morning? I know that segment is usually about things that tend to tear down our culture. We’ll begin our Thursday with something that is lifting it up and just who is making that difference. You know them, especially in this heavy military community. And it’s not just their service that changes things.
We’ll stay positive as our day moves on. Government service is often disparaged, in my estimation, unfairly so. For government services to run anywhere close to right, it takes good, committed civil servants to make it happen. We also have those folks all around us. I’ve met many of them through this job and in the course of doing business with our county and city governments.
Before you start thinking I’m wearing my rose colored glasses today, the news ain’t all good. Washington, DC is polarized, but there is an upside to that. Or so says the Blaze’s S. T. Karnick. And then we go to the US House. Republicans there defied the Speaker and joined Democrats in support of more Ukraine support. And if that wasn’t enough, Republicans joined the Democrats again to stop the president from using military force against Iran.
The good thing about polarization is…it makes the white hats and black hats easy to recognize.
Welcome to a Thursday.
