Monday: Expensive Boredom & Budgets

I know soccer, football in communist parts of the world, may be the world’s most popular sport. After all, if you don’t have a TV or a clock to keep the game’s time with, how would you know about real football, baseball, basketball or ice hockey? But it’s also as boring as watching paint dry or grass grow. At least in both of those events, something important is happening. We’ll begin our day with NY’s Letitia James following the lead of our own James Uthmeier as she takes on the FIFA people over the cost of World Cup tickets. Boredom for the World Cup is expensive.

We’ll then delve into the FLOCK cameras that have so many people in an uproar. That apparently includes the surveillance system’s CEO who says his company and law enforcement using them are under attack by the defund the police crowd.

Our attention will turn to the Florida budget (also expensive) and the governor’s property tax plan that is in consideration during this third special session for the legislature.

Given time, we’ll take a look at the US Senate through a great column by Fox News’ David Marcus. Can John Thune read the writing the voters are putting on the proverbial wall?

Welcome to our Monday on BML.
