Eleven Rescued From Sea Off Coast Of Central Florida

(Melbourne, FL) -- No one is believed to be seriously hurt after a plane crashed-landed in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Central Florida. The twin-engine plane was traveling between islands in the Bahamas when it went down about 80 miles from Melbourne. All eleven people on board were rescued by the Coast Guard and taken to local hospitals for evaluation. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Congresswoman Luna Threatens CIA Over MK-Ultra Files

(Washington, DC) --Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna is threatening to take legal action against the CIA. The St. Petersburg Republican said yesterday she's giving the agency 24 hours to return documents it seized from National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard. The CIA reportedly seized 40 boxes of JFK and MK-Ultra files that Gabbard was in the process of declassifying. MK-Ultra was a Cold War-era CIA mind control program alleged to have used mind-altering drugs, like LSD. Luna says if the CIA doesn't return the files, she'll issue a subpoena forcing them to do so.        

Employees Sue Spirit Airlines

(Fort Lauderdale, FL) -- Six former Spirit AIrlines employees are suing to get the money they say they're owed. The class-action lawsuit filed this week claims the company owes them unpaid wages, compensation and benefits. They also say Spirit violated federal law by not giving workers advance notice before closing two weeks ago. The lawyer who filed the suit tells NBC 6 his clients are scrambling to figure out how to pay their bills.

Lawsuit Filed Over Trump Library

(Miami, FL) --Plans to build President Trump's library in Miami-Dade County are running into legal resistance. A group of Miami residents filed a lawsuit Tuesday over the transfer of land from Miami Dade College to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation. The plaintiffs claim that transfer violates the constitution because it amounts to a gift to Trump, and presidents are not allowed to accept gifts they financially benefit from. The lawyer who filed the suit tells CBS News Miami this is not like other presidential library projects because Trump has said this is for for-profit ventures.

Vacationing UK Sergeant Steps In During Nashville Police Struggle

(Nashville, TN) --Nashville police are releasing body camera video showing an unexpected act of help during a violent traffic.Authorities say veteran Officer Peter Kinsey was struggling with a suspect when a British police sergeant on vacation, identified as Taylor Johanson, ran in and helped pull the man off.Kinsey says he feared for his life during the struggle before backup arrived, while Johanson says he saw the fight from the roadside after just landing in Nashville and immediately stepped in to help. MNPD says it's considering formal recognition for Johanson's actions.
