(Tallahassee, FL) --A former lawmaker is being remembered as a good man who served Florida with distinction. That's what Governor Ron DeSantis said yesterday about former Congressman Bill Posey. He passed away Saturday at the age of 78. Posey represented the 8th District that includes Brevard and Indian River counties from 2009 to 2025. Senator Rick Scott says Posey was a patriot and a tireless, conservative fighter for fiscal sanity and the American way of life. HillsCo Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase
(Riverview, FL) --A Hillsborough County man who just got out of prison may be heading back there. Riverview's Justice Powell was arrested after going over a hundred miles an hour yesterday morning on I-75 in Riverview. He's facing over two dozen charges. They include armed possession of a controlled substance, which FHP identified as fentanyl. Powell is also charged with felon in possession of a firearm, reckless driving, aggravated fleeing to elude and driving without a valid license. He was released from prison six months ago after he was convicted of burglary.
Eleven Hurt In Miami-Dade County Boat Explosion
(Miami, FL) --Eleven people were injured after a boat apparently exploded in Miami-Dade County. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said yesterday it's still investigating Saturday's incident at Haulover Sandbar near Bal Harbour. One woman onboard tells NBC 6 one of those who was hurt was a 15-year-old boy who needed leg surgery. There's no word on the conditions of the others or what caused the explosion.
Fort Lauderdale Man Fatally Mauled By Grizzly Bear In MT
(West Glacier, MT) -- A Fort Lauderdale man was likely fatally attacked by a grizzly bear in Glacier National Park in Montana. Sources say Anthony Pollio was hiking near Lake McDonald Lodge Sunday. He was later found about 50-feet from the trail Wednesday.A bear spray can was found nearby.

Applicants can apply as many times as they want to increase their chances for a permit for the Alligator Super Hunt for the next few weeks. Pentagon Releases New UFO Files
(Washington, DC) -- The Pentagon is making declassified UFO files accessible to the American people. According to the Department of War, it released "never-before-seen files" related to alien and extraterrestrial life on Friday that are now "all in one place - no clearance required." The department said it will be "releasing new materials on a rolling basis," and tranches will likely be "posted every few weeks." The release follows a directive from President Trump earlier this year that instructed the Pentagon and other relevant agencies to start releasing the files. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said now the American public can fully decide for themselves when it comes to opinions on aliens.
