Rays Blank Guardians, Extend Streak To Six

The Tampa Bay Rays (18-11) defeated the Cleveland Guardians (15-16) 1-0 on Tuesday night in Cleveland. With the win, the Rays picked up their sixth straight win.

Nick Martinez (2-1, 1.70) pitched seven shutout innings in which he allowed three hits while striking out four and walking one. Cole Sulser picked up his first save of the season after working a scoreless ninth inning. Jonathan Aranda came through with the only offense in the game, a RBI single in the fifth inning that drove Taylor Walls in for the games only run.

The Rays will now try to sweep the Guardians when they meet in the series finale on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 1:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting Inside Pitch at high noon on 95.7 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
