Pirates Take Series From Rays

The Pittsburgh Pirates (13-9) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (12-9) 6-3 on Sunday afternoon in Pittsburgh. With the win, the Pirates won the three-game interleague series.

The Rays trailed 1-0 going into the fifth inning, when Hunter Feduccia drove in two in the top of the fifth to give the Rays a 2-1 lead. The Pirates answered with three in the fifth to take control of the game, and added single runs in the sixth and eighth to add insurance. Junior Caminero hit a solo homer in the ninth to pull within 6-3, which would prove to be the final score.

The Rays now return home and will host the Cincinnati Reds in a three-game series beginning on Monday night. First pitch on Monday is scheduled for 6:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.7 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
