Lightning Beat Predators, Sweep Back-To-Back

The Tampa Bay Lightning (46-21-6) defeated the Nashville Predators (34-31-9) 3-2 on Sunday evening at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa. The Lightning swept both ends of a back-to-back, having also defeated the Ottawa Senators on Saturday afternoon, and are now 6-0-2 in their past eight games.

After a scoreless first period, Nashville got the scoring started with a goal from Joakim Kemell in the second. Jake Guentzel answered to tie the game at the 13:32 mark of the second. The Lightning took their first lead early in the third period when Brandon Hagel scored to make it 2-1, but Flip Forsberg tied the game for the Predators just twenty seconds later.

Corey Perry broke the tie with what would prove to be the game-winning goal at the 6:52 mark of the third period. Jonas Johansson went 29-for-31 in net for Tampa Bay to earn the win.

The Lightning continue their seven-game homestand when they host the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Canadiens is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Tuesday night at Benchmark International Arena.
