Woman Dies In Police Shootout In Brevard County 

(Palm Bay, FL) --A woman is dead after a shootout with police officers in Brevard County. It happened yesterday afternoon in Palm Bay on Serenade Street Northwest.Palm Bay Police say officers responded to a disturbance call and were met with gunfire. The SWAT team was called, and police say the woman shot at them, too. Less than 10 minutes later, there was an exchange of gunfire, and the 54-year-old was pronounced dead. The FDLE is investigating. 

Bomb Threats Reported At Volusia County Schools

(DeLand, FL) --Some Volusia County schools appear to be the victims of swatting. The sheriff's office announced yesterday multiple high schools received identical bomb threats via email yesterday morning. Deputies say the emails came from a VPN account overseas, and the threat is consistent with a coordinated swatting attempt designed to cause disruption and fear. The VCSO says all the affected campuses were swept, but the schools remained open, no evacuations were ordered, and everyone is safe.    

Polk County Sheriff Makes Offer To TSA Agents

(Bartow, FL) --Out-of-work TSA agents may want to contact the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Grady Judd posted a video on Facebook yesterday inviting agents from the TSA and ICE to apply for a job with the PCSO. He promises they'll never miss a paycheck, ever. Judd also promises a 20-thousand dollar hiring bonus.The Department of Homeland Security announced yesterday over 400 TSA officers have quit since the government shutdown began over a month ago.   

FL To Ban Several Items From SNAP Benefits

(Tallahassee, FL) --Florida will ban several items from being purchased with food stamps starting next month. They include sugary drinks, candy, and ultra-processed desserts.The SNAP restrictions take effect on April 20th. Lawmakers say the move is aimed at promoting healthier food choices among recipients.

DoorDash Driver Receives Nearly $1 Million After Going Viral

(Manchester, TN) --An elderly Middle Tennessee DoorDash driver is getting a life-changing surprise after going viral. Richard Pulley accepted a nearly one-million-dollar check from a GoFundMe fundraiser started by a customer who caught him on her Ring doorbell. The campaign aimed to help Pulley and his wife with bills, medications, and retirement savings. DoorDash also pitched in 20-thousand dollars and praised Pulley for completing more than six-thousand deliveries. The 78-year-old says he plans to keep delivering because the work "keeps him active and he enjoys it."
