ICE Won't Move Into Central Florida Research Park

(Orlando, FL) -- ICE won't be moving into an office in Orlando. Congressman Maxwell Frost says he was told this week the agency will not rent or lease space at Central Florida Research Park. That word came from the US General Services Administration, which is in charge of securing property for the federal government.Wired.com reported last month ICE was looking at moving in. ICE still has office space on Delegates Drive, and it may also open a detention center off SR 528.

Polk County Sheriff Addresses Illegal Immigration

(Bartow, FL) -- Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd is calling for a new approach to illegal immigration.Judd held a press conference yesterday to call for giving some illegal immigrants a path forward to staying here.Judd wants a way to reward those who are here illegally but still contribute to society. As an example, he cited a 40-year-old woman who came here illegally with her parents when she was a teenager and has since married an American citizen. Judd says he does support requiring people to pay a penalty so they can stay and enjoy the American dream.  

Registered Sex Offender Arrested Trying To Get To Cuba

(Miami, FL) -- One of Lee County's most wanted is now behind bars in Miami-Dade County. Registered sex offender Worden Bourn was in court yesterday after his arrest last month. He was wanted on a warrant out of Lee County, but prosecutors say he was found on a boat headed to Cuba. Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno says Bourn was on their ten most-wanted list, and his arrest shows you can run, but you can't hide.   

Florida Woman Accused Of Shooting Boyfriend, Burying Him

(Bay Co., FL) -- A woman is accused of murdering her boyfriend and then burying his body outside their Bay County home. Ashley Averett was arrested this week and charged with one count of murder. Police say she confessed to shooting Joseph Eiler and attempting to dismember his body. Human remains were buried in several locations in their yard. The investigation is still ongoing.

(Miami, FL) -- The World Baseball Classic is giving a Miami Marlins player a lifetime of memories.Venezuela beat the US three to two last night in the final at loanDeport Park.
