Questions Surround Incident With Brevard County School Bus

(Melbourne, FL)-- An incident involving a school bus trying to cross railroad tracks in Brevard County is raising questions. Brevard Public Schools says a bus was crossing the tracks at Hickory Street and NASA Boulevard this week when a crossing arm malfunctioned and came back down onto the bus. The driver was afraid a train might be coming, so she backed up and wound up breaking a side mirror. She called Melbourne Police, and BPS says officers felt she handled the situation well.Some parents, though, say their kids are traumatized, and a member of the Florida East Coast railway Society says the story doesn't make sense. He tells Fox 35 gates don't just immediately drop, and we need transparency.         

Deadly Train Collision In Broward County

(Wilton Manors, FL)-- One person is dead after being hit by a train in Broward County. It happened yesterday afternoon in Wilton Manors.Wilton Manors Police say a Brightline train hit a pedestrian at a railroad crossing on Northeast 26th Street near Dixie Highway. The victim died at the scene. 

Reaction To Cuba's Prisoner Release

(Coral Gables, FL)-- An upcoming address by Cuba's president has people wondering. Miguel Diaz-Canel is expected to make a rare TV appearance this morning. This comes after Cuban officials released over 50 prisoners yesterday. Dr. Andy Gomez is professor of Cuban studies at the University of Miami, and he says the prisoner release is a good faith effort by Diaz-Canel to show the US he's willing to do something. Diaz-Canel is expected to discuss national and international issues in his speech today, but no details have been released. Gomez tells CBS News Miami the last time he can recall an early-morning address was when Raul Castro announced Fidel was dead.

DoorDash Driver Caught Driving Stolen Car

(Belle Meade, TN)-- A wanted man out of Nashville was caught by police while making a DoorDash delivery in a stolen car. Police in Belle Meade used license plate recognition to spot Justin Wise driving the vehicle Saturday. Wise had outstanding theft warrants in Nashville for stealing a 12-hundred-dollar iPhone from an area store. Police took him into custody without incident.
