Islanders Snap Lightning's Seven Game Win Streak

The New York Islanders (14-10-2) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (16-8-2) 2-1 on Tuesday night at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.

The Islanders built a 2-0 lead thanks to a goal from Bo Horvat in the second period and Anthony Duclair in the third. Dominic James scored the only Lightning goal when he got Tampa Bay on the board at the 16:26 mark of the third period.

Islanders goalie Ilya Sorokin made 27 saves to pick up the win in net. Andrei Vasilevskiy went 21-for-23 in net for Tampa Bay in the losing effort.

The Lightning now return home for the next two games beginning with a matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Penguins is scheduled for 7:00 PM at Benchmark International Arena on Thursday night.
