SpaceX Rocket Launch Planned For Today

(Cape Canaveral, FL) -- SpaceX could light up the sky tonight. A Falcon 9 rocket is set to blast off at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station during a 15-minute window that starts at 6:24 p.m., and weather conditions are 60-percent Go. The rocket will carry a Space Force GPS satellite. Meanwhile, a ULA launch set for yesterday was scrubbed, and the company plans to try again tomorrow.   

UCF Voting Precinct Exceeds 100% Turnout

(Orlando, FL) -- A polling site at UCF is responsible for a historic level of turnout. Precinct 538 on Tuesday recorded a voter turnout level of almost 108-percent, and the Orange County elections office tells Channel 9 that has never happened before. Elections officials say some students changed their address after the registration deadline, which they're allowed to do as long as they registered somewhere in Florida before the deadline. One election official tells UCF Today it shows students are getting more engaged. 

HillsCo Elections Supervisor Says Florida Can Be Model

(Tampa, FL) -- Unlike 20 years ago, Florida is setting an example for how to hold an election. That's what Hillsborough County Elections Supervisor Craig Latimer said yesterday. While the state was the butt of jokes during the Bush-Gore recount in 2000, this time around, Florida was called quickly Tuesday night because early votes were counted ahead of time. Latimer says that should make Florida a model for the rest of the country. 

Burglary Suspect Breaks Through Pet Store Wall, Steals Valuable Animals

(Kissimmee, FL) -- Kissimmee Police are searching for a burglary suspect who broke through the wall of an exotic pet store, stealing more than 60-thousand-dollars worth of animals. According to the owner of HSL Animal Paradise Pet Store, two monkeys and approximately 50 birds were stolen and they may have been mistreated during the incident. Hilda Matheus tells WOFL Fox 35 the animals' cages were broken open, and feathers were found all over the store.  She is also concerned that some of the animals may end up being sold online or to people in surrounding neighborhoods.

Steelers Buy Dinner For Allegheny County Election Workers

(Pittsburgh, PA) -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are scoring a touchdown with election workers. A group of players teamed up to buy dinner for those working at the Allegheny County ballot-counting site in the Steel City. The spread came from a place called The Goose Express, where players grabbed chicken, rigatoni, veggies, rolls, pies and more. In a tweet, Allegheny County thanked the team for their kindness.
