Orange County Health Official Discusses Mask Mandate

(Orlando, FL) -- Masks may be part of life in Orange County for at least the rest of the year. County health director Dr. Raul Pino yesterday discussed when the mask mandate may be lifted. He said he wouldn't recommend rescinding the requirement until there's a vaccine. Even then, he says it would take months before enough people got the vaccine that mask mandates could be lifted. 

Broward County Curfew Expires

(Fort Lauderdale, FL) -- Broward County is easing at least one coronavirus restriction. The county yesterday allowed its overnight curfew to expire. The curfew had been in place since July 17th. Restrictions are still in place for restaurants, gyms and short-term rentals. 

Twitter Hack Mastermind To Appear In Court Today

(Tampa, FL) -- The Tampa teenager known as the mastermind behind a Twitter hack will be in court today. Seventeen-year-old Graham Clark is set to be arraigned on 30 felony counts related to last month's incident. Clark is accused of hacking into accounts and directing their followers to donate Bitcoin to accounts linked to him. Some of the accounts Clark is accused of hacking into are Barack Obama's, Joe Biden's and Bill Gates'.

Lyft Driver Attacked By Passenger

(Bunnell, FL) -- Alcohol appears to have played a role in an attack on a Lyft driver in Flagler County. Deputies say a passenger attacked his driver Sunday night. Dash cam video appears to show the 36-year-old passenger take down a glass partition and put the driver in a chokehold. The driver suffered minor injuries, and the passenger is facing charges that include battery. 

Bear Spotted With Trump 2020 Sticker On Collar In North Carolina

(Asheville, NC) -- It's not unusual to see plenty of campaign stickers in an election year, but rarely are they found on a wild animal. A woman told a radio station in North Carolina she spotted a black bear with Trump 2020 sticker on its tracking collar. Sheila Chapman reported the sighting after she saw the bear wandering near her home in Asheville over the weekend. She told the station "it's not OK," adding that it's "cruel and inhuman" to use a wild animal to promote a political view.

1993, two police officers were convicted of violating Rodney King's civil rights. Stacey Koon and Laurence Powell were sentenced to two-and-a-half years in jail.

1982, Joel Youngblood became the first Major League Baseball player to play and get two hits for two different teams in the same day. During an afternoon game he drove in the winning run for the New York Mets. Once the game was complete, he was traded to the Montreal Expos and played in a night game in Philadelphia. He singled in the fourth inning.
