As the country reacts to the coronavirus some are releasing prisoners from prison.I don’t know who came up with it, but that’s a dumb idea.IN A HANDBASKET takes us to Liberty University.There is faith and then there is challenging God.While most colleges are keeping students away, Liberty has opened the doors for kids to return, even though classes will be online.

The whole senior shopping hours at area retailers is a good idea.Restricting it to one day a week is not.This needs to be rethought with multiple days, or even daily special hours.As it was, it seemed the entirety of this vulnerable population forgot about social distancing and jumped back into panic mode!

Palm Bay is not the epicenter of the coronavirus, but the virus has brought on a symptom the political plague that has struck the city.You fire a professional CEO in the city manager’s job and hire, in essence, a rookie with limited management experience and you get exactly what you were asking for.When the reasons for these moves were purely political, you have shown your ineptitude as a council.

The county policy board is at it again.Partial beach closures were on tap as they vie to keep inland Floridians away from our beaches with fantastic weather on the way.They’ve held off on that for now, but won’t rule anything out.In a bit of good news, the county commission reined in that board and Chairman Bryan Lober when it comes to messaging with only select, favorable sources.Press conferences will be regular and available to all media.

In Pennsylvania the Supreme Court has ruled that closing gun stores is OK.That’ll work right up until the supremes themselves need guns.
