Kidnapped Girl Returns Home

(Apopka, FL) -- A kidnapped Orange County girl is back home. Apopka's Madeline Mejia was found yesterday in Leon County in the company of four people who were taken into custody. An Amber Alert was issued after the three-year-old was taken outside her home yesterday morning. FDLE agents in a helicopter saw the car she was in and contacted FHP troopers who pulled over the driver on I-10 near Tallahassee.

Deadly Shooting At Orlando Shopping Center

(Orlando, FL) -- A woman is dead after a shooting at an Orlando shopping center. It happened last night at Orlando International Premium Outlets on I-Drive. She was shot at the Under Armour store where she worked, but there's no word on a motive. No arrest has been announced, but police say the suspect is a man who knew her.

Church Volunteer Arrested For Sex With Underage Girl

(Jacksonville Beach, FL) -- A church youth volunteer is accused of sex acts with an underage girl in Duval County. Neptune Beach's Cameron Eberbach was arrested two months ago for unlawful sexual activity with a 17-year-old. In addition to being a volunteer with St. Paul's Catholic Church in Jacksonville Beach, he's also a Navy Reserve corpsman and an employee at the Mayo Clinic. The 28-year-old is due in court tomorrow morning.

Hospital Employee Accused Of Assaulting Patient

(Tampa, FL) -- A hospital employee is accused of what the Hillsborough County sheriff calls a disgusting act. St. Joseph's Hospital physical therapist Regginald Jackson was arrested last night for the alleged sexual battery of a 75-year-old female patient. The assault was reportedly recorded on video. Sheriff Chad Chronister tells ABC Action News Jackson showed an appalling breach of trust, and deputies will work diligently to find more possible victims. 

Man Accused Of Attack On Elderly Man

(Miami, FL) -- A man is facing charges for what he admits was an act of stupidity in Miami-Dade County. Armando Serna was arrested yesterday for allegedly attacking an elderly man on Southwest 8th Street. Police say Serna hit the 82-year-old with a garbage lid, knocked him to the ground, and then beat the man with his own walker. The 29-year-old made off with the man's wallet, but he was arrested and confessed to a judge yesterday that, in his words, he messed up. 

Invention By USF Prof Could Help Stop Coronavirus

(Tampa, FL) -- A USF professor could hold the key to stopping the spread of the coronavirus. Dr. Yogi Goswami invented a device three years ago he believes can stop the spread of the disease that has killed over a thousand people. He says the device is like an air filter that completely destroys any viruses in the air, and it was named by Time magazine as one of the top inventions of 2017. He tells News Channel 8 he wants to help, and he has been contacting the CDC and lawmakers to make his product available.

Colorado State University To Offer Cannabis Degree

(Fort Collins, CO) -- Getting a degree in marijuana is now possible at Colorado State University. Officials have approved a bachelor's of science degree program in Cannabis Biology and Chemistry. It's one of the first of this kind in the country and demand is expected to be high. As many as 60 students could be studying the cannabis industry this fall. They'll train to work as biochemists and food scientists. Both medical and recreational marijuana use is legal in Colorado.

Burger King Swapping Photos Of Ex For Whopper On Valentine's Day

(Miami, FL) -- They say breaking up is hard to do, but at least it'll get you free food. Burger King is giving out free Whoppers on Valentine's Day. Simply bring in a photo of your ex and swap it for a burger. The fast food chain has 'breakup boxes' set up as part of a promotion for the "Birds of Prey" movie. It just opened over the weekend. But this deal is only happening at locations in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Boston.

Fan Gets Ice Pops Post Surgery Thanks To Aaron Rodgers, Danica Patrick

(Green Bay, WI) -- A Connecticut girl doesn't remember professing her love for the Green Bay Packers' quarterback following surgery, but Aaron Rodgers' girlfriend sure does. Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick saw Callie Kessler's video on Twitter last week after the teenager had her tonsils removed. In the video, she said she loved Rodgers and he'd come and make her throat stop hurting. Also, he'd buy her 400 Popsicles. On Monday, the ice pops arrived, courtesy of the Rodgers and Patrick. The New Haven, Connecticut teen told CBS 58 in Milwaukee she's a lifelong Packers fan and apologized for "being that embarrassing."
