Orange County Deputy Involved In Shooting

(Orlando, FL) -- One person is hurt after a deputy-involved shooting in Orange County. It happened last night after deputies responded to a call about a broken window at a business on West Colonial Drive. As the deputy approached the suspect, the suspect allegedly shot at the deputy, who returned fire. The suspect was hit and is in critical condition.The deputy was not hurt.

Road Rage Suspected In Deadly Shooting

(Winter Haven, FL) -- Road rage is suspected in a deadly shooting in Polk County. It happened Saturday night in Winter Haven on Lake Ned Road. Deputies say an SUV driver told them a pickup truck driver confronted him for following too closely and threatened to kill everyone in the SUV. The SUV driver claims he feared for his life and shot the pickup truck driver, who died after being taken to the hospital. No arrest has been announced, and the investigation is ongoing. 

Officer-Involved Shooting In Tampa

(Tampa, FL) -- A man is hurt after an officer-involved shooting in Tampa. Police say they heard gunshots early yesterday at 42nd and Cayuga streets, and when they went to investigate, they found an armed man identified as Wayne Wilson. Despite orders to drop his gun, police say Wilson ran toward officers, raised his gun and was shot. The 34-year-old is in stable condition and facing charges.No officers were hurt.

Police Officer Stabbed In Miami-Dade County

(Miami Beach, FL) -- A man is dead and a police officer is hurt after an incident in Miami-Dade County. Miami Beach Police say a man stabbed a police officer Saturday night in South Beach at 10th Street and Ocean Drive. Police, in response, shot the suspect, who later died. The officer who was stabbed is in stable condition and is expected to be OK. 

Robbers Explode Valrico ATM

(Valrico, FL) -- A search is underway to find whoever blew up an ATM in Hillsborough County. Deputies say someone used spray paint to cover the security camera outside a Regions Bank in Valrico yesterday. Moments later, the ATM at the drive-through on Bells Shoals Road exploded. It's not clear how much money was taken, and no arrest has been announced.

Teachers Joining Tallahassee Rally

(Titusville, FL) -- Teachers from around Central Florida will be part of what could be the largest education rally in state history. About 20-thousand teachers are expected in Tallahassee today to call for more funding and other changes. About 300 Brevard County teachers are expected to attend, and union president Anthony Colucci believes this kind of demonstration is long overdue. He tells Florida Today our students deserve better than being funded in the bottom 10 in the nation.  

LSU Cancels Classes For Students to Attend National Championship

(Baton Rouge, LA) -- LSU officials are canceling classes at the Baton Rouge campus Monday and Tuesday. Louisiana State's Board of Supervisors approved the decision Friday morning in order for students to watch the Tigers take on Clemson in the college football National Championship game tonight. Spring semester will begin Wednesday January 15th. 

Cops Seize $300,000 Worth Of Fake Makeup

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The LAPD says over 300-thousand-dollars worth of counterfeit makeup was seized last week from the downtown Los Angeles area. Among the items apprehended were fake Kylie Cosmetics products -- including Lip Kits and Too Faced makeup palettes. L.A. police tweeted that "previous test of counterfeit makeup revealed animal feces and chemicals that can be hazardous to your health." Officers advise consumers to "please purchase from an authorized retailers."
