Man Arrested At Port Canaveral On Child Porn Charges

(Port Canaveral, FL) -- A cruise to the Bahamas may be the last taste of freedom one man has for a while. Nevada's Michael Harrison was arrested this week on child porn charges after his cruise docked at Port Canaveral. Customs officials allegedly found images of child porn on the 51-year-old's computer. A judge yesterday denied bond citing the danger Harrison poses to the community, and if convicted, he could get five years in prison.

ID Of Remains Found In Search For Missing Girl Could Come This Week

(Jacksonville, FL) -- News that's expected but also dreaded is expected this week in the search for a missing Jacksonville girl. DNA testing is underway in Alabama to determine if a body found last week is that of five-year-old Taylor Williams. First Coast News reports samples were taken from the body Friday, and they're being tested against DNA found on some of the girl's possessions.

Judge Refuses To Step Down In Parkland Shooting Trial  

(Fort Lauderdale, FL) -- The judge presiding over the trial of alleged Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz, will continue to do so. Cruz's lawyers filed a motion to remove Judge Elizabeth Sherer from the court proceedings, because they believe she's not impartial. But today Judge Sherer said after considering the request, she decided not to grant it. The trial is scheduled to begin in late January.

Museum Supporters Try To Save Institution

(Melbourne, FL) -- Supporters have ideas on how a Brevard County museum can stay open. Florida Institute of Technology is planning to close the Foosaner Art Museum in 2021, but supporters at a meeting this week criticized the school. The daughter of one donor presented members of the Tourist Development Council with 15 suggested changes that could allow the museum to generate more revenue. Those changes include more science exhibits, and a university official said he'll take the suggestions to the school president.

Girl Makes 'Miracle' Recovery Thanks To UM Doctors

(Miami, FL) -- Parents are crediting University of Miami doctors with performing a miracle for their daughter. A five-year-old girl named Ximena was recently brought to UM's Undiagnosed Diseases Center after other doctors couldn't figure out why she was unable to move on her own. UM's doctors found she had a disease so rare that it only affects a few dozen people in the world. With treatment, Ximena can now freely move her limbs, and her sister tells NBC 6 the family is amazed by the amount of progress they've seen in such a short period of time. 

Teenager Facing Drug Smuggling Charges

(San Diego, CA) -- A teenager is facing charges, accused of using a remote-controlled car to move drugs across the southern border. The Border Patrol says San Diego Sector agents found the 16-year-old Sunday with the car and two large duffel bags near the border. Agents searched the bags and found more than 100-thousand dollars worth of meth inside. The American teen was eventually arrested on drug smuggling charges.

Mattel Releasing Limited Edition UNO Deck For Holidays

(Undated) -- Mattel is looking to keep politics away from the playing table this holiday season. The toy company is releasing a limited edition 'nonpartisan' UNO deck, removing the blue and red cards from the pack. Orange and purple cards will take their place. There will also be a new veto card that skips a player's next turn and forces a subject change if the current topic is politics.
