That's the way the cookie crumbles, Nestlé USA announced Thursday they were voluntarily recalling certain ready-to-bake refrigerated Nestlé Toll House Cookie Edible Cookie because of the risk of contamination with rubber pieces.
According to the voluntary recall notice issued by Nestlé USA, the recall covers some batch codes for Nestlé Toll House Morsels, Nestlé Toll House Ice Cream Sandwiches, Nestlé Toll House Edible Cookie Dough, and Nestlé Professional, SKUs.
Consumers can check their Nestlé products by looking for the batch codes that begin with 9189 and run through codes that begin with 9295. Batch codes can be found on Nestlé packages next to the "use or freeze-by" date before the number 5753.
Nestlé USA is taking this action out of an abundance of caution after receiving reports of food-grade pieces of rubber in some of these products," Nestlé wrote in the release announcing the recall. "We have identified the source of the rubber and have already fixed the issue."
Anyone who has purchased the products (listed below) are urged not to prepare or consume the cookies and instead throw away the product or return it to the place of purchase. The company asks anyone who has purchased the recalled products to retain proof of purchase and contact Nestlé Consumer Services at nestleproductinquiry@casupport.com.
