Drunken Man Wanders Into Volusia County School

(Port Orange, FL) -- A Volusia County school is facing questions about its security after a disturbing incident. A man suspected of being drunk was able to get past school security last week and enter a classroom at Port Orange's Spruce Creek High School. An SRO arrested 51-year-old Derek Marlowe, who allegedly had a knife on him. No one was hurt, but one parent tells News 6 the school should have more security for the safety of our children.

Woman Wanted For Attacking Walmart Security Guards

(Lake Wales, FL) -- A woman is wanted for an attack in Polk County that left Walmart security guards in fear for their lives. Lake Wales police say loss prevention officers confronted Doronda Jo Ussery this weekend for shoplifting at a store on SR 60. Once inside the guards' office, police say the 24-year-old pepper sprayed the guards and then tried to stab them. She remains on the loose and is wanted for charges that include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Graham Resigns From Rebuild 850

(Tallahassee, FL) -- A group put together to help the Panhandle rebuild from Hurricane Michael will go forward without one of its leaders. Former Congresswoman Gwen Graham revealed yesterday she was asked to resign as co-chair of Rebuild 850, which was meant to be a non-partisan effort to solicit funding for the area. That non-partisanship came into question, though, after Graham's tweets over the last couple months criticized Governor Ron DeSantis. One of Rebuild 850's founders tells The Democrat you can't be co-chair of a non-political organization and be spewing political attacks. 

Teen Hurt After Trying To Save Child

(Key Biscayne, FL) -- A teenager is hurt after what appears to be a heroic rescue effort in Miami-Dade County. A 17-year-old boy jumped into the water at Historic Virginia Key Beach yesterday to help a nine-year-old boy and the boy's mother. A witness tells 7News the teen pulled the child to safety, but went into distress while trying to save the 25-year-old woman. The teen was pulled from the water and taken to the hospital where he's in extremely critical condition, but the child and mother are expected to be OK. A friend says the teen's actions were in line with his selfless nature.Superintendent Alberto Carvalho, who had visited the teen in the hospital, told 7News he was inspired and heartbroken by the teen's actions.

Bride, Groom Arrested In Wedding Day Melee

(Prescott, AZ) -- It will be a wedding day they'll never forget. A bride and groom in Arizona were among those arrested in a fracas in Prescott Saturday night. Police responded to reports of a woman in a wedding dress assaulting an employee at a local business. Police located the woman with a group of people who appeared to be arguing. They say Eric Cordova became aggressive toward an officer and things escalated from there, leading to a brawl with the group. They say during the struggle 30-year-old Ashley Jordan hit an officer. Cordova and Jordan had gotten married earlier in the day.

Pornography Played On Michigan Interstate Billboard

(Auburn Hills, MI) -- Michigan police are looking for two suspects they believe hacked an interstate billboard to display pornography. The double-sided billboard, along Interstate 75 in Auburn Hills, began to play a porn video for about a half-hour over the weekend to passing drivers. Police then began to receive calls about the billboard, prompting them to contact Triple Communications to shut down the video. The billboard company reported that security footage showed two masked people breaking into a small building underneath the billboard, most likely to hack it. Police say the two could face felony and misdemeanor charges for the incident, which tons of drivers also posted to social media.
