Stuart Buchanan has revealed himself in a Florida Today story to be the informant in the Palm Bay corruption case that involves former Deputy City Manager Dave Isnardi and Jose Aguiar.
This is odd. Informants, by the nature of the work they do with law enforcement, are generally shy of the media. After all, if you’re the rat in the story you don’t want that known among the miscreants with which you deal on a regular basis.
Not Buchanan. He’s craving the spotlight. In fact, he’s hogging it, but why?
It seems this informant has spent an adult life informing authorities of the misbehavior of those around him. He seems comfortable in the presence of lawbreakers. And he’s pretty high on himself while he’s at it.
The Florida Today story highlights some, but not all of Buchanan’s criminal behavior.The charging documents are not clear or consistent with the case presented.
There is something fishy here and it’s as much about the informant as it is the case itself.
