Source Of Crew Dragon Capsule Explosion Revealed 

(Cape Canaveral, FL) -- SpaceX now knows what caused an explosion at Cape Canaveral. The company announced yesterday that April's explosion of a Crew Dragon capsule was caused by a leaking valve. The capsule was destroyed during the ground test, but no one was hurt.  

Witnesses Not Cooperating With Shooting Investigation 

(Melbourne, FL) -- Police are running into some roadblocks as they investigate a shooting in Brevard County. The shooting took place Sunday night at a birthday party in Melbourne near Wickham Road and Dusa Drive. There were a couple dozen witnesses, but police say none of them are cooperating. No one was hurt, and no arrest has been announced. 

Lawmaker Discusses Prison Beating Video 

(Tallahassee, FL) -- Senator Jeff Brandes is shocked by a video taken at a Lake County prison. The video appears to show an officer beating an inmate at a facility in Clermont. Brandes is vice chair of the criminal justice committee, and he says part of the problem is the stress officers are under due to a lack of staffing. He also tells Fox 35 they need to raise the pay to attract and retain more workers. 

Storm Closes Rides At Disney World 

(Orlando, FL) -- Mother Nature is to blame for closing some of Disney World's most popular attractions. A storm yesterday caused a temporary electrical problem at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Attractions like Space Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, the Hall of Presidents and Spaceship Earth were shut down. The weather also closed some rides at Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom.

Sheriff Morgan Accused Of Misleading Public In Sex Ring Investigation 

(Pensacola, FL) -- Escambia County's sheriff is accused of being dishonest about his role in an alleged sex ring. The lawyer for a woman suing Sheriff David Morgan responded yesterday to Morgan's claim that no video ever existed of him in a compromising position in a hotel room. The plaintiff claimed a former deputy had the video, but a lawyer for the former deputy revealed last week there is no such video. The lawyer for the plaintiff said yesterday that doesn't mean the video never existed, and Morgan is misleading the public when he makes that claim.

Bradenton Man Calls Out Homeless Man Who Refused Job Offer 

(Bradenton, FL) -- A Manatee County business owner is calling out a homeless man who turned down a job offer. Bradenton's Ryan Bray says he was approached by a homeless man asking for money at a stop light this weekend, and when Bray offered him a job doing yard work, he says the man cursed him and kicked his car. Bray then went home, made a sign that explained what happened and held it while standing at the same street corner next to the homeless man yesterday. Bray tells News Channel 8 the homeless want money, but they don't want to work for it, and if people stop giving them money, they'll go away. 

Ceremonies Mark Anniversary of Moon Mission 

(Cape Canaveral, FL) -- One of mankind's greatest achievements launched 50-years ago today, when the Apollo 11 mission blasted off from Cape Canaveral, bound for the moon. Today, Apollo 11 crewmembers Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins are reuniting at the Kennedy Space Center as special events are held across the country to mark the milestone. Saturday marks the golden anniversary of the lunar landing, when the late Neil Armstrong left the first human footprints on the moon.

2015, a Colorado jury found James Holmes guilty in the 2012 mass shooting inside an Aurora movie theater. Holmes was convicted on over 160 counts, including 24 of first degree murder. He had pled not guilty by reason of insanity.

2015, a shooting spree in Chattanooga, Tennessee left four marines dead. A shooter opened fire on an Armed Forces recruiting center, and then a Naval Reserve Center, where he shot and killed the Marines. That shooter was killed in a shootout with police.
