Teen Arrested For Teen's Murder
(Palm Coast, FL) -- Social media appears to have been used to set up a murder in Flagler County. Deputies yesterday said Palm Coast 16-year-old Benjamin Allen shot and killed 17-year-old Elijah Rizvan last week. Allen apparently contacted the victim through Snapchat to buy drugs, but when they met on Westford Lane Friday night, deputies say Allen showed he had no intention of paying for the drugs. Sheriff Rick Staly is reminding parents to monitor their children's social media activity.
Man Arrested For Killing Stepfather
(Daytona Beach, FL) -- A man is facing charges after an apparent family dispute turned deadly in Volusia County. Alonzo Harkness was arrested yesterday for killing his 60-year-old stepfather Saturday in DeLand on South Parsons Ave. Police say the alleged shooting happened during an argument. The 25-year-old Harkness is charged with second-degree murder.
Inmate Beaten In YouTube Video
(Clermont, FL) -- The corrections department is investigating what it calls a deeply disturbing video from a Lake County prison. A YouTube video posted this weekend appears to show at least 10 officers at Lake Correctional Institution beating an inmate. The incident was apparently recorded by another inmate at the Clermont facility using a contraband cell phone. The inmate has been transferred to a different prison, and the officers will not have contact with inmates until the investigation is over.
Marijuana Grower Discusses Impact Of Court's Ruling
(Tampa, FL) -- A Tampa company can claim victory in a legal battle with the state. An appeals court ruled last week in favor of Florigrown in ruling the state's medical marijuana law was unconstitutional. The judges ruled it was illegal to force medical marijuana companies to be vertically integrated because that requirement was not part of the amendment voters passed that legalized medical marijuana. Florigrown co-owner Adam Elend told News Channel 8 yesterday the state created an industry that was broken before it got off the ground.
Apollo Workers Hold Reunion At KSC
(Cape Canaveral, FL) -- Kennedy Space Center this week will honor those who helped us take a giant leap for mankind. Tomorrow marks the 50th anniversary of the historic Apollo 11 launch, and a reunion was held yesterday for those who made it possible. An astronaut who was a backup crew member said it was a perfect time with both political parties working together to be the first nation to put a man on the moon. Events marking the 50th anniversary of the moon landing will continue today through July 24th.

NASA Updates Efforts For Next Moon Landing
(Undated) -- NASA is working on another moon landing project by 2024. NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine told CBS' Face The Nation that astronauts could have been on Mars by now if it wasn't for technical and political risks. Right now, NASA is developing the Artemis program, which aims to figure out how humans could live sustainably on the moon if humankind ever had to leave Earth. Bridenstine says the ultimate goal would be to learn how to live on Mars. He also added the Artemis program and next moon landing will be led by a female astronaut.
