Four Arrested In Daytona Beach Shootings 

(Daytona Beach, FL) -- After a series of shootings in Daytona Beach, police expect a peaceful end to the week. Police Chief Craig Capri said yesterday everyone involved in six shootings Monday and Tuesday is lying low as officers try to round them up. Nineteen-year-old Daemon Carn was killed and a pregnant woman was hurt in two of the shootings. Four people are in custody, and Capri says the shootings are related to a fight last month outside a bar on Mason Ave.  

Man Arrested For Installing Cameras In Women's Bathroom 

(Port Orange, FL) -- A Brevard County woman feels numb and empty after an apparent case of video voyeurism in Volusia County. Mims 33-year-old Nicole Loveless is one of two women who were allegedly recorded last month using the restroom at a company in Port Orange. Sales associate Ryan Wilkins was arrested this week for allegedly installing the camera in the ladies room at Firestone Complete Auto Care on South Williamson Boulevard. The 37-year-old DeLand resident was fired, and Loveless tells the News-Journal she now suffers from anxiety and a fear of public places.  

Mount Dora Police To Get Sensitivity Training 

(Mount Dora, FL) -- A city in Lake County is taking steps to change the behavior of its police officers. Mount Dora's city manager announced yesterday that all officers will undergo sensitivity and leadership training. The decision came after Police Chief John O'Grady was fired last week over his conduct and leadership style. City Manager Robin Hayes says she hopes the training will help reestablish trust in the department.  

Sheriff Discusses Former Deputy's Arrest 

(Marianna, FL) -- Jackson County's sheriff is at a loss to explain the alleged actions of a former deputy. Sheriff Lou Roberts yesterday discussed the arrest of Zach Wester, who's accused of planting evidence against drug suspects. Roberts says the charges are embarrassing and disheartening for the agency. He offered no theory for a motive, but he thanked the community for patience during the investigation that was delayed by Hurricane Michael.One alleged victim claims he lost custody of his daughter due to his false drug arrest.

Clerk Kills Burglar 

(Fort Lauderdale, FL) -- A robbery suspect is dead after a shooting in Broward County. Deputies say it happened when the unidentified man and an accomplice broke into a gas station yesterday near Fort Lauderdale. The clerk claims the men pistol whipped him and robbed the place, but he chased them and shot them. One of the men was killed, but the other got away.   

Strip Club Cancels Tournament At Trump Resort 

(Doral, FL) -- A Florida strip club is canceling an event at the Trump National Doral golf club. The charity golf tournament was set to include dancers from Shadow Cabaret serving as "caddy girls" for the participants. The club apologized if anyone was offended by the nature of the tournament, adding that they only intended to raise money for a local youth basketball program. A statement from the club noted that it has no relationship to Trump Doral outside of this event. The event was supposed to take place this Saturday. 

Area 51 Probably Can Stop Them All 

(Undated) -- People want to see the alien secrets the government's been hiding. Around 200-thousand people have signed up on Facebook for a joke event called "Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us." The plan is to meet in September outside the top secret base in the Nevada desert.The base has long the subject of rumors about aliens and flying saucers. Then the idea is for everyone to rush inside. There are signs up around the base warning that deadly force is authorized against trespassers. Those who wander inside the perimeter are usually met with fines and court dates instead of bullets. Either way, it's advisable to avoid taking this Facebook meetup seriously.
